How to change the Mitt UiB system language from Norwegian to English (or other languages)

Log in to Mitt UiB

All employees and students will choose "log in with your UiB account". If you are already logged in at another place, you don't have to enter your username and password again.

If you're not logged in anywhere else, you will be asked to enter your username and password. Most usernames consist of 3 letters and 3 numbers. Examples of usernames: jbo007 / sto007.

Logging on using the two-factor authentication is mandatory for both employees and students. Read more here about how to get started with two-factor authentication Lenker til eit ekstern område.

You can also read more about how the IT department strengthens the data security at UiB.

After signing up/creating an account: Please allow some time for the systems to synchronize.

New student at UiB

When new students and employees have been registered (in FS and SAP, respectively), a user account will be generated automatically in Mitt UiB. The new user will receive a message about this change, and must then activate their new Mitt UiB account. You can do this here, where you can also read more about how to activate the user account step by step, how the two-factor authentication works, and how you can change your password.

As soon as you have a registration for examination or a course registration, the course will show up for you in Mitt UiB. Ordinarily, this should take effect within one hour.

Logging in to systems other than Mitt UiB

For some services, like Office 365 and Eduroam, you need to add @uib.no to the username for an ID, like this jbo007@uib.no. The password is the same as for Mitt UiB.

Please note: E-mail addresses written as name.name@uib.no will not work as an ID for logging in to Office 365.

Inside Mitt UiB, there is a technical solution called UiB Oppgaveseminar, which uses Office 365 to allow students to comment on each others' assignments in groups. Click here to see the user manual for UiB Oppgaveseminar.
