The poet Jhave used to take lots of photographs, but for the last year, has taken none. Each time he sees something he would like to photograph, he stops himself and writes down a description of the image he wanted to take instead. For one day, please try to do the same.
Your assignment is to read Jill's blog post about Jhave's project Links to an external site., look at Jhave's Tumblr Links to an external site., and post at least one description of an image you would have taken today.
You might want to try to imagine taking images with a different technology than a camera/smartphone. Would you describe the image differently if you were going to paint it using renaissance perspective? If you were going to film it using an old, pre-sound movie camera? If you were going to put it on Vine?
