Reading and journaling 1: before first class
- Due Jan 21, 2016 by 10am
- Points None
To prepare for Class 1: Pre-Digital Visual Technology (21 Jan) (incl. visit to Maritime Museum), please read:
Friedberg, Anne. 2006. "The Frame". In The Virtual Window: From Alberti to Microsoft. Cambridge MA: MIT Press. (pp 58-93) (will be available for purchase at http://litteraturkiosken.uib.no)
If you find this difficult, don't worry about understanding every word. Skim it. Try to understand the main arguments. Write down questions, or things that you don't understand. Find something you do understand. Spend about 2 hours reading - if you haven't finished at that point, move on but bring some notes and questions for us to discuss in class.
