Finding publication statistics - Introduction
There are many options for publication statistics. This module provides:
- ideas about what statistics are available
- practical guidance on how and where to find these
Knowing what is available can help you pick the statistics that are best for you. While many people are familiar with using the h-index and citations, other statistics may reflect a publication's impact more accurately, or provide more context about what you have worked on and how it was used. This module will explain how and what your possibilities are.
Note that there is a push for more responsible use of indicators in research assessment, which is already changing practices around the use of statistics on CVs. More information is provided on page 3 of this module, "Statistics or Narrative?"
