WHY DO WE NEED RULES AND PROCEDURES?

Taking a PhD degree is for most candidates one step on a career road that will lead in different directions.  It is no longer the life work of a candidate in a strong collaboration with a supervisor.

Equal treatment and conditions is the main idea behind more rules, regulations and procedures. The conditions for PhD candidates at the faculty should be as similar as possible. That means a candidate admitted to the PhD programme will in a greater scope be treated the same way, and have the same opportunities as other candidates, no matter which department he or she belongs to, and who the supervisor is.
