Under the Account area in the red global menu, you will find these choices:

Notifications

You can choose how often you want email notifications via Mitt UiB, what you want the notifications to be about, and to which email addresses the emails should be sent.

Please note:

The choices are personal, and will affect your notifications for all of Mitt UiB.
You will see explanations for the settings icons at the top of the Notifications Settings page.
Important: The standard settings are meant to ensure that you receive the necessary notifications/messages in your student account. Therefore, you must make certain that you do not turn off too many of the notifications!
Important: Even if you can choose to have notifications from Mitt UiB sent to other email accounts, you must also always pay attention to and check your regular student email account. This is because important information from UiB will sometimes be sent directly to this email account!

The choices:

Choose the bell icon to be notified immediately.
Choose the calendar icon with the number 3 on it for daily notifications. Daily notifications are sent out at around 18:00.
Choose the calendar icon with the grid on it for weekly notifications. Weekly notifications are sent out every Saturday between 18:00 and 20:00.
Choose the bell icon with a slash line over it to not receive any notifications.

Notifications for each separate course

Important: The settings can also be edited for each separate course. Enter each course and choose "View Course Notifications" in the grey right-margin menu to edit the course notification settings.

Profile

Here you can add information about yourself (biography) and upload a profile image. If you would like to add or edit your profile image, you can hover your mouse pointer over the image circle and click on the pencil icon that then appears. You can also click on the menu choice "Edit settings" to edit. In some web browsers, "Edit settings" has been replaced by a small menu icon consisting of three vertical dots:

Files

Here you can find all the files you yourself have uploaded to Mitt UiB, no matter which course it was for.

Please note: This is not the place to submit assignments. This is the place for finding documents that you have submitted earlier, and also to other places in Mitt UiB. It's possible to save/store documents in Files. You can retrieve documents from here after submitting them to Assignments.

Settings (Pronouns, Language, Time Zones)

You can edit language, contact information and other things by choosing Account and then Settings in the global menu. Next, you choose "Edit settings" in the grey menu on the right side of the page. You can also link to other web tools/services.

You can edit your own pronouns, but you cannot edit your own name in Mitt UiB. This goes for all of the three name settings: "Full name", "Display name" and "Sortable name".

Please note: Please contact our user support (UiBhjelp) if you have been registered with the incorrect first name or last name in Mitt UiB.

You can also change your feature options: For example, you can edit the visual display by choosing "High contrast UI".

Here you can find the global announcements that were previously visible at the top of your dashboard.
