10:45 New Aesthetic: Two by two: what is the new aesthetic?
Discuss as group.
11:00 Paul/Levy article: look at list of visual genealogies of new aesthetic on page 29. Each student has 15 minutes to research that branch of art, and find at least five images that they think represents it. Post in discussion forum. Remember there is some more explanation of each genre on p 31-33.(Include break time in this)
11:30 Students present to class. Discussion. Talk also about visual argument. Do these images make an argument? Describe a genre? How do they relate to Bridle’s New Aesthetic Tumblr?
11:50 Jill talks about politics of vision and image (p37) – Foucault’s panopticon. Briefly about ANT, and the non-human turn.

12:45 Minute paper – Two main things learned? What is still unclear?
12:50 Talk about next week’s assignment and readings for next week. Remind students they have to buy Her Story, or read it at the iPad at the library (they should ask at the desk, say it’s Digital Culture’s iPad)
