Class 3: VR and stereoscopic vision (4 Feb)

Please read and explore the material described in Reading and journaling 3: VR/stereoscopic to prepare for this class. In class, we will discuss the material you have read, and we will discuss and explore various VR/stereoscopic apps and technologies, including a 19th century stereoscope and Google Cardboard.

Discussion question: Ingrid Hoezl and Rémi Marie write that we are the "deictic center" of Google Street View (page 91). Find out what deictic means. Do you agree with Hoezl and Marie about this? Why or why not? Does the same apply to Photosynth? The simulations at Bergen maritime fagskole? What about other related visual technologies?
