Kaltura, also known as My videos and Course videos in Mitt UiB, has functioned as UiB's service for storing and sharing teaching videos. Since its introduction, this service has shown some instability, and limited possibilities - especially for video sharing and accessibility. Panopto has proven to be a better service for our needs.

From the February 1st, 2023, all Norwegian public websites must be universally designed. For a website to be universally designed, one of the requirements is that videos on the page must have subtitles. Panopto supports automatic captioning, which is an important step on the way towards universal design of our digital teaching.
