Master CV
A master CV is a chronological record (portfolio) of everything you have ever done that might be relevant for a position one day.
- Remember extracurricular activities, volunteer work, training and mobility experiences.
- The portfolioe can be word format, or you can try online tools like Europass.
From your Master CV you select and decide what snapshot you want to present. As a researcher going into industry, you must switch from advertising your publications, awards and citations to accentuate the added value of your credentials. That is what you bring to the job.
Do not squeeze in everything you have done throughout your career;
it should be like a business card or snapshot of your relevant competence for the specific job.
Think Relevance!
Depending on how many years of practice you have, focus on the most recent relevant experiences. If you are a postdoc, you can consider leaving out education before your PhD.
Sometimes you are best served by presenting your PhD as education, sometimes as work experience. For the industry, PhD as work experience will often be beneficial.
