Section 6 - Match making

Matching what employers want with your competence

  1. Find a job advertisement you are interested in.

  2. Look for the task or job performance section in the ad.
    NB! The tasks are perhaps not written under tasks, but under the description of the company and department. 

  3. Qualification section.
    Think about how you can distinguish between "must have" and "nice to have" attributes and qualifications. Remember: you don't have to meet all requirements to be shortlisted. (Do not pay attention to what you dont have).

    so demonstrate your abilities and skills: 
    • Key experience in…
    • Strong ability in…
    • Demonstrable success in…
    • Extensive knowledge in… 

Avoid using I, start right at the verb. Limit the number of
bullet points and choose the most important ones; and
again, limit the sentences to three.
