The STAR method

 S  T  A  R  stands for:

 Situation ,  Task ,  Action  &  Result .

This is an effective method for sharing compelling information in cover letters, CVs, track records and at interview. It involves adding concise contextual detail to demonstrate the value and impact of your skills in real-time situations. You might not need to use each element every time.
For example:

Providing concise information about the  Situation ,  Task  and  Result  might transform: 

▶  4 years research project management experience

Into:

▶   Named postdoctoral researcher;  CRIMEX: the impact of prison education interventions on re-offending rates.   Resulted in 2 first authored publications (Criminology/Criminology & Public Policy, 2023; and a conference paper (annual conf. of the ESC, 2022)
