Upon completion of this module you should:
- know the four required elements in a PhD degree
- know that you are expected to include the candidate in the wider research community
- know about the relevant regulations in the Working Environment Act
- know the main requirements for the training component
- be familiar with your role in supervising the training component
- know what must be included in article-based theses and monographs
- know about the progress report and how it's followed up
- be familiar with your role and the importance of a Mid-way assessment
- know how to give guidedance on ethics
- know about safety and risk for candidates at field work or other travels abroad
- know what to do if something goes wrong
