CLAIMS FOR RESEARCH CRUISE PARTISIPANTS
UIB's guidelines for fields and research cruises on the HSE-GateWay
UiB's employees follow the same rules as the Institute of Marine Research (HI)
CRUISE PARTICIPANTS, must before the cruise have:
Health Certificate for Seafarers. Valid for 2 years.
Safety Survival course, Falck Nutec. Valid for 5 years.
CRUISE LEADER must, in addition to requirements for cruise participants, have:
Cruise leader course, given by HI.
HSE training for sea and land, 40 hours. E-learning course
Ensure that one of the cruise participants has HSE training for sea and land, 40 hours, so that this person can be a Safety Delegate on board.
SAFETY DELEGATES shall in addition to requirements for cruise participants have:
HSE training for sea and land, 40 hours. E-learning course
GUEST RESEARCHERS (Project collaboration)
Health Certificate for Seafarers. The health declaration can be from their home country or from Norway.
Safety Survival courses are not required for guest researchers. Necessary safety training will be provided on board.
MASTER STUDENTS who have their main work at sea, the same as Cruise Participants:
Health Certificate for Seafarers. Validfor 2 years.
Safety Survival course, Falck Nutec. Valid for 5 years.
STUDENTS who are on a teaching cruise of several days duration and who perform work on board must have:
Health Certificate for Seafarers. Valid for 2 years.
Safety Survival courses are not required for these students.
Necessary safety training will be provided on board.
STUDENTS who are at sea for less than a day in connection with field courses and who do not perform work on board:
does NOT need Health Certificate for Seafarers.
Safety Survival courses are not required for these students.
Necessary safety training will be provided on board.
